Check-in

As a First customer you have the freedom to check in up to 60 minutes prior to your flights departure time. The staff at the dedicated First check-in counter will ensure you receive your boarding pass quickly and efficiently, so you can comfortably make your way through to one of The exclusive lounges.

For international departures from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne there is a dedicated First Class lane at immigration for Express Immigration Clearance.

Baggage Allowance

The baggage travels with priority baggage tags to ensure it is among the first off the aircraft.

Generous First Class baggage allowances gives you plenty of room.

Additional checked baggage allowances are available for members of The Qantas Club and some Qantas Frequent Flyers.

The Qantas Club

As a First customer, before your flight, you are invited to access any Qantas First or Business lounge. Where a Qantas lounge is not available you can also access the lounges operated by a oneworld airline. The oneworld airlines are Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia and LAN.

We offer dedicated international First lounges in Auckland, Bangkok, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, MelbThene, Singapore and Sydney (click here to view details). At other Qantas international ports, you'll be welcomed to use either a Qantas Club lounge or an associated lounge.

The Sleeper Seat

On B747-400 aircraft you can relax in yThe full length First sleeper seat. Or, if travelling with a companion you may choose to share a quiet space in one of The three pairs of side by side sleeper seats.

Use the controls at the end of yThe armrest to move your seat, legrest and lumbar positioning from a relaxed reading position, to completely reclined on yThe bed. And, even in a sleeping position, the width between the armrests is 54.6cm (21.5 inches) so there is plenty of room between you and your neighbours. Then relax with your cosy duvet, soft lambs wool blanket and oversized linen pillow and enjoy the best flights sleep you ever had.

You will also receive a complimentary First sleeper suit to maximise your comfort and reduce the crush on your clothes.

Enjoy the latest in entertainment with yThe personal entertainment system. YThe 21cm (8.4 inch) touchscreen is built into the armrest. PC power outlets and telephones are available in yThe seat so you can communicate while you fly. Each seat also has an individual fibre optic reading light on a flexible stalk making it easier to read.

Inflight Cuisine

Enjoy the level of dining you would expect to find in a five-star restaurant.

Every meal in First has a distinctive Australian style that also reflects the diversity and flavours of the countries we fly to.

Select a dining style to suit your needs, whether it's a full restaurant-style experience, an express-style meal, or simply a snack in the middle of the night. The dedicated Flight Attendants will take yThe breakfast order before you go to sleep, allowing you to maximise yThe sleep time.

We open the bar before take off so you may choose the drink of your choice - be it premium French Champagne, beer or juice. Once in the air, choose from a range of top quality spirits, international beers and wines. To finish, indulge in a glass of port or liqueur.

Setting the Mood

To improve the inflight experience, a unique LED cabin lighting system* has been exclusively designed for Qantas.

The first of its kind in the skies, the system adjusts the interior ambience of the cabin in line with the time of day and onboard activities, making flying more relaxing.

Amenities

Qantas have selected a range of luxurious skincare products and personal grooming items for The First amenity kit to ensure you feel refreshed from the moment you step onboard. The amenity bags have been designed exclusively for Qantas by Oroton, Australia's leading fashion accessory brand. In The women's kit, we've taken a number of products from leading Swiss skin care specialists La Prairie to create a beautifully presented gift. For the men's kit we've selected items from the new ClarinsMens range. You'll feel like you've never left the ground.

The redesigned and spacious bathrooms provide you with all the necessities to ensure your complete comfort whenever you feel the need to freshen up. Items include hand cream and soothing mist by La Prairie, and soft, fresh cotton hand towels.

Experience Total Entertainment from your new larger 21cm (8.4 inch) touch screen.

Choose from 18 channels of video entertainment, including
12 movie channels screening the latest movie releases and six television channels. You also have a choice of ten Q Games channels. Many of the movies onboard are pre-Australian cinema release.

The First Q Film Library offers 50 titles to choose from. The library is constantly updated and includes premiere, world, classics, Australian and family titles. Select the movies you want to watch and play them at your leisure, knowing that your noise-reduction headsets will provide you with premium sound quality.
