I thought we’d be on copacabana joining the 2million brazilians watching firework and dancing in the crowd. i had no idea this Jockey Club NYE party they organised for our group is no where near the beach, you can only see the firework in distance, and its only a party of a thousand instead of 2 million! I was disappointed, so were people in the group, but we made the most of it regardless. We still had alot of fun, the band there played great samba and axe music, and brazilians know how to party wherever they are! When Gorgena and I returned to Copacabana about 3.30am, surprisingly the beach party was over. I learnt the party on Ipanema beach still went on, but we were tired and too lazy to make our way there..

If you come here for NYE, best to be in an exclusive area at Copacabana, in a beachfront apartment or hotel party with view to the whole beach and firework, as well as easy access to the crazy crowd dancing to the music at different stages on the beach, and head to Ipanema beach party after midnight!
