Our trip to Europe

Monday, October 12th, 2009

We liked Swiss Air – and especially liked Zurich as a change flight airport – but don’t believe we saw anything of an upgraded Swiss cabin. The business class seats we had were quite acceptable – not as big in structure or style as Qantas  - but OK from a comfort viewpoint.

We hadn’t realized that mid to late September was still so peak in Europe – still very hot – and very crowded – so from our viewpoint late May / early June is still the best time to visit Europe.

We missed the Emirates / Etihad Limo service – that is a real feature . In Rome our hotel organized a limo pick up for us – this worked well.

Etihad trip

Hi Keren

I’m back and sorry about cancelling the car! My beloved INSISTED he wanted to pick me up so the chauffeur had to be ditched.  Now just wanted to give you some feedback, everything was excellent and I got to travel the Abu Dhabi London leg both ways on the brand new fancy super schmancy  Diamond First Class and it is amazing!  Everything was great, fast tracking through customs left right and centre, they could no do enough for me at the airport on all of the planes, would thoroughly recommend Etihad and it was worth the money and an excellent deal. Even the normally painful Heathrow part was quite tolerable after all the bowing and scraping.

Thanks again for making the organisation so smooth and here’s hoping Etihad continue with more good deals!

My Trip to Italy

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Hi Tina,

Everything went very smoothly.

Etihad was great.  The only complaint (about which you can do nothing) is that the business class seats are very narrow and that made sleeping a little difficult.  Apart from that, all was very much up to scratch.  The limo service is a great added extra.  It just makes getting to and from the airport so much more relaxing.

We stayed at Tremezzo on Lake Como and we agreed that it was much more relaxed than Villa D’Este further south on the lake.  Villa D’Este is beautiful but it seemed a bit stuffy, whereas Tremezzo Palace was beautiful AND relaxed.  I’d go back in an instant.

Venice we stayed at the Londra Palace and it was also very nice.  Very humid and very expensive in Venice.  Great place but not hurrying back there.

All in all a very good holiday and the flights in particular were excellent.

Thanks for your help.  We would be only to happy to use firstclass.com.au again for our next trip.

CPAP Machine on various airlines

Etihad: Power adaptors are available on board, power supply from the seat is 115v 60Hz AC.
Qantas are the most cooperative - they don’t allow connection to seat power but with a few days notice will rig a power lead to the seat.
BA lets you connect to seat power with a converter, which they sell.
SQ requires a battery.
Virgin Atlantic doesn’t know about CPAP.

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Hi Tina,

Had a great trip thanks. Weather was great, trip was a sucess, and Etihad were superb.

I could not recommend them more highly.

Planes are great, staff are friendly. Food terrific.

Limo’s were on time and great as well.

So everything was great including your assistance thanks.

Thanks for follow up.

Etihad Airways

Tina, we both enjoyed our flights with Etihad. The planes were comfortable and the food and level of service was really first class. The provision of a car to get to the airport and then to be met in Paris was a huge benefit that we really missed in Brussels(where the service was not available). The chauffeurs were all as helpful as the airline crews. In short Etihad would be our airline of choice for future trips, always providing of course for competitive pricing.

Business class beds were completely flat and most comfortable the only problem might be for anyone whose body is a bit broader than the norm but no problem for us. The lounges were fine and although I had read some unfavourable reports on the net re Abu Dhabi the new terminal and the lounge were fine.

Our client Justin says…

With regards to Etihad on my last trip they where OK better than Qantas, BA and Thai. Areas for improvement would be the following

  • Airport Lounges – In a nut shell terrible
  • Sydney well it’s the business class lounge

  • Abu Dhabi again business class lounge very small I had to wait to get a seat
  • London the same

There didn’t feel like there was any difference between Bus and First class
(Thai for example are the best people to greet you when u get off the plane etc)

  • Food - I know its airline food but it was below what I would expect
  • Service Great staff where very accommodating only prob no PJ’s from Abu Dhabi to London and return
  • Inflight entainment not bad, great screen and pretty good line up of movies. disappointed they where the same on the way back (cross over month June – July) but plenty to choose from
  • Seat Great very comfortable good sleeper
  • Over all they where pretty good better than a lot of others out there if they improve the lounges and food they will be well and truely there..would I would recommend them yes and already have

Hope this helps also it should be noted your services was wonderful very easy uncomplicated and fast I will continue to using u and recommend u
