The largest game reserve in South Africa, the Kruger National Park covers a massive 18,869 square kilometers (7332 square miles) and spans some 350 km from its most northern and southern points and 60 km from east to west. |
The Kruger National Park has an extremely diverse landscape of nearly 2 million hectares, consisting of six different eco-systems with some 1982 species of plant life (336 tree species), not to mention its 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 507 birds, 147 mammals and 114 reptiles.
All the ‘Big Five’ game animals can be found at Kruger National Park including, African buffalo, black rhinoceros, zebras, bushbucks, cheetahs, giraffes, and hippopotamus amongst others.
The Kruger National Park offers a choice of nine different trails, some of which are overnight and last several days in through remote areas almost untouched by man whilst others involve following animal trials or cutting new trails through virgin bush.
