While it may be tempting to stay on the beach every day, there are heaps of sports and other activities that will spice up your stay in Phuket. Be adventurous, learn something new, stay fit, and most of all, take time to explore some of the truly fascinating sites in the waters surrounding Phuket and on its interior.
When you are going to Phuket it doesn’t mean you have to stay on the white sandy beaches and just relax all the time. Phuket can offer you more than most other places in the world. There are activities for all ages and interests. 
Golf
The year around warm climate and the natural scenic beauty of Phuket make it a natural for developing championship golf courses. There are various courses to choose from on Phuket and available for visitors to play and enjoy. All of the courses on Phuket are old tin mine sites that have been transformed into beautiful and challenging golf courses. The courses offer rental clubs, shoes, and carts.

Ten minutes drive from the resort, the internationally recognized Blue Canyon Country Club features 36 holes of championship golf. Asia Golf Monthly Magazine named Phuket as the 'Best Golf Destination in Asia' for 2001 and the Canyon Course at Blue Canyon Country Club as the
'Best Golf Course in Asia.'
Diving
Phuket Island is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the South' and for scuba divers it's certainly the crown jewel of the Andaman Sea
The best time for a dive is between October and May between the two monsoons, but good scubadiving is available all year. A fleet of dive boats now roam the azure blue water of the Andaman Sea that for thousands of years served as the main trade route for merchant vessels, pirates, explorers and missionaries from India, the Arab nations and Europe on their way to China, ancient Siam (Thailand), and Japan.
Watersports
a selection of non-powered sea kayaks, windsurfers, boogie boards, Hobie Cat and two Zuma sailing Dinghy’s are available for hire in most resort hotels.

Fishing
Good fishing is available all year around. The period between June-August, when the seas can get rough, is especially good for sailfish. Gamefishing boats generally fish in the lee of islands such as Racha Noi and Racha Yai, during this season. Late November is a good time to go after marlin, tuna and any number of other fighting fish. By this time, the monsoons have settled, and the fish are biting.

An extensive range of programs caters in most Resorts for all ages from tots to teens. Wakeboarding and Surfing
Off Phuket's beaches, waterskiing and wakeboarding are seasonal, with the May-October southwest monsoon discouraging the sport on the exposed western side. Weather permitting, though, skiboats on Patong Beach may occasionally venture out even in this season. From mid-November on till May, however, the seas are generally calm and the surf slight -- ideal for skiing and boarding. Check with the speedboat operators along the beach for equipment and boat rental.
