Laguna Resort Golf Club Phuket (Banyan Tree Golf Court)
Voted Top Ten for Best Golf Resort in Asia , Best Clubhouse in Asia and Best Golf Courses in Thailand by readers of Asian Golf Monthly magazine, Laguna Phuket Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 resort course, designed by Max Wexler and David Abell, which challenges golfing enthusiasts of all abilities. Measuring 6,654 yards from the back tees and 5,464 yards from the front tees, the course features a wealth of scenic lagoons, coconut groves and undulating fairways, set against the dramatic backdrop of the surrounding mountains and Andaman Sea .
Meandering through the labyrinth of lagoons, the course requires golfers to play with great accuracy, and to select clubs carefully. Water looms on 13 of the 18 holes and threatens to swallow any shot veering too far to the side. On several holes, adventurous long hitters will certainly enjoy taking a rewarding gamble by cutting corners, while on other holes, strategic iron play is a must!
Laguna Phuket Golf Club also offers a wonderful opportunity for you to refine your game at its extensive practice facilities. Features include a covered area for sun and rain protection, a driving range, putting greens, practice bunkers and chipping areas; so you can work on both your short and long games. The Club also provides professional golf instruction.

The Most Relaxing golf course in Phuket.
Located in Kathu District just 7 kms. from Phuket Town and Patong Beach, about 15 minutes from Patong.Nestling below a panoramic range of peaks, and sandwiched between the Katu Waterfalls and Katu Village the layout surrounds the largest lake on any golf course in Phuket, Crystal Lake, 48 acres in size, and its smaller sister lake, which give golfers a refreshing breeze off the water.
This is an 18 hole course par 72, 6,434 yards palm tree-lined beauty, recently completed major re-designs and multi-million dollar upgrades. The course is in great shape. It is a very good layout and one that is beginning to rival some of the best layouts on the island as the refurbishment matures. You are required to put your thinking cap on and keep perfect control of your game on this tightly routed layout.
Complementing the golf course is a new country-style clubhouse, with excellent changing and dining facilities.

Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa
RATING: Mission Hills might be by the sea but it is not a links course. It actually bears no similarity to other courses on the island but probably reflects Phuket's character most accurately. Nicklaus Design has added some distinguishing quirks, like the two greens that offer alternative finishes FACILITIES: Five target greens make the driving range an accurate reflection of the game. International restaurants, bar lounges and a swimming pool are part of the 72 room-resort. There is also a pro shop, patio cafe, kiosks, plus a private function room, and of course a spa. |
Phuket's first 21st Century championship course lies on the scenic north-east coast. A nine-hole night golf course, due to open in early 2005, is also close by in the foothills. The courses are 10 minutes' drive from the airport and 30 minutes from Phuket City. 
Mission Hills has been carved from rubber plantations and sits among Phuket's environmentally-friendly mangroves. Great expanses of white sand beach bunkers have been added to contrast with the translucent blue hues of the ocean and the vibrant greens of the Sea Isle grassed fairways and putting surfaces. It is accurately described as a “piece of living art,” the kind of pastiche that Vincent Van Goh would have created given half a chance and a love of a long drive. The ocean views are delivered at a price: water comes in to play at seven holes. The sea breezes also are a regular feature. What time of day you choose to play can turn a following zephyr into a stiff headwind. While the spa awaits at the 19th hole, stress and tiredness are further banished with caddies and golf carts both being compulsory. It is not unknown for snacks to be delivered out on the course at lunchtime.
