Air Whitsunday, the largest seaplane operator in the Southern Hemisphere, has served the needs of Hayman’s guests for 30 years. Their fleet includes five De Havilland Beavers, famous for their reliability and safety. Air Whitsunday’s pilots are dedicated to ensuring you have a safe and memorable experience.

Reef Adventure
Departing daily, seaplanes will showcase the magnitude of the Great Barrier Reef from above, before landing and transferring to private semi submersibles at Hardy Reef for two hours coral viewing and snorkelling. Enjoy aerial views of Hook, Hardy and Heart Reefs from above and explore this amazing underwater world from below. The seaplanes have large, unobstructed windows, perfect for photography and personal headsets. The semi submersibles have an underwater viewing chamber, sun and shade decks and easy step access into the water. Groups are limited to a maximum 12 people to ensure you receive the best of attention. Snorkelling assistance and tuition is provided. All ages and fitness levels are catered for.

Whitehaven Experience
Whitehaven Beach is often voted as one of the best beaches in the world, famous for its incredibly white silica sand. This tour includes return seaplane flights (approx. 15 minutes each way), two hours at Whitehaven Beach, towels, umbrellas and refreshments. If you would like a picnic, please arrange this in advance with Hayman. In some weather conditions, this tour may require the seaplane to land at an alternate beach in the vicinity of Whitehaven Bay.

Panorama
For a complete experience, visit the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach, all on the one tour. Combine all the features of a Reef Adventure tour with a one-hour stop on Whitehaven Beach, an extraordinarily beautiful part of our world heritage national park. This tour includes return flights (approx. one hour total), towels, umbrellas and refreshments. A picnic can be arranged in advance with Hayman. In some weather conditions this tour may require the seaplane to land at an alternate beach in the vicinity of Whitehaven Bay.

Fantasea Reefworld
Fantasea Reefworld is the largest purpose-built pontoon facility on the Great Barrier Reef. Seaplanes depart daily for Reefworld and include aerial views of Hayman, Hook Island, Hardy Reef and Heart Reef, before splashing down on the pontoon. Guests have the option of snorkelling and diving, riding the semi-submersible or simply enjoying being part of the largest living structure on earth. Reefworld has showers, conveniences, sun and shade areas and provides snorkelling equipment. Introductory divers are required to complete a course at Hayman prior to booking this tour. Certified divers are required to produce their qualification prior to boarding their seaplane. Tour duration is three hours for snorkellers and one-tank divers, and four and a half hours for two tank divers. Tours are scheduled to visit Reefworld during a time when there are few other guests there.

Scenic Flights
Air Whitsunday’s seaplanes provide a great way to enjoy our world heritage surrounds from the air. All aircraft have large panoramic windows, passenger headsets and include an in-flight commentary. Scenic flights can be booked at a time to suit your holiday schedule and require only two people on each flight.

Private Charters and Transfers
Each tour is available on a private charter basis ensuring the exclusive use of a seaplane where possible and, where applicable, Air Whitsunday’s semi submersible. The aircraft are amphibious, enabling them to land on water or runways. Transfers are available to/from Hayman to most mainland ports and other resort islands.
