Qantas has opened its doors to its new business class lounge at Brisbane domestic terminal.

The move comes as part of Qantas’ and Brisbane Airport Corporation’s multi-million dollar plan to improve the airport and lounge experience in Brisbane. The Business Lounge will be part of a stylish new precinct that includes a new look Qantas Club and a new valet experience.

With the redevelopment of the existing Qantas Club and the construction of a new Business Lounge, domestic capacity is expected to increase by nearly a third. In addition, a new invitation-only Qantas Chairman’s Lounge for VIPs and high-value customers will be added.

Along with the premium space, travellers will be able to access the new lounge quickly by using the new Premium Lounge Entry. Offering a dedicated check-in area, bag drop, security screening and escalator with direct access to the new Qantas Lounge Precinct, Premium Lounge Entry will streamline the departure process from airport arrival, allowing customers to move through the terminal quickly and maximise their time in the lounge instead.

The new Premium Lounge Entry facility is for exclusive use by customers travelling in Business, Qantas Club members, Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers and Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald Members. It will be located on Level 1 and open seven days a week, one hour prior to the first Qantas departure. Customers utilising Qantas Valet will also receive a new valet experience with direct terminal access.

The new Brisbane lounge will have a distinct Queensland feel to give it a different flavour from the Perth, Sydney or Melbourne lounges. It will have a more tropical atmosphere and outdoors effect that’s in-keeping with the new Brisbane International Lounge which opened in October of last year.

Qantas’ operates 57 direct weekly international services from Brisbane to Auckland, Christchurch^, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Noumea, Port Moresby*, Singapore and Tokyo.
