In Search of Tigers with Abercrombie & Kent

Day One

Delhi – Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh National Park. Fly to Jabalpur this morning where you are met and transferred by road to Bandhavgarh National Park, which supports India’s highest tiger density. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive.

Days Two-Three

Bandhavgarh

You spend two days exploring this renowned tiger reserve with a trained naturalist guiding you on twice-daily safaris. The park’s dramatic landscape features tropical forests, woodland, steep rocky hills and flat grasslands teeming with wildlife. Choose from 4WD safaris or a guided walk.

Day Four

Bandhavgarh – Kanha National Park

A long drive to Kanha National Park, India’s most famous tiger reserve. This dense jungle was the inspiration for Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’. With over 200 bird species, Kanha is also an ornithologist’s paradise. Later, as the shadows deepen, set out into the jungle on a game drive.

Day Five

Kanha National Park

Venture into the hushed silence of the jungle again, on the trail of spectacular wildlife.

Day Six

Kanha – Pench National Park

A drive to another popular tiger reserve, Pench National Park. Pench is also home to leopard, panther, hyena, sloth bear and an amazing variety of birds. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day Seven

Depart Pench

Your morning game drive takes you past hidden watering holes and rocky lairs. Later, transfer to Nagpur airport where your journey ends.

Mahua Kothi Jungle Lodge

Banjaar Tola Tented Camp

Extending across a 90-acre private concession and overlooking the core zone of Kanha National Park, Banjaar Tola lodge, a Taj Safaris lodge hotel, boasts two elegant camps of nine suites each, as well as a lavish tented guest area. 

Built in a chic, glamorous camping style, each tented suite features glass doors leading out onto a floating verandah, and overlooks a tranquil river. Baghvan Jungle Lodge

Roam the jungle in search of tigers and other elusive animals. Dominated by hills, forests and valleys, the 292-square-mile (757 sq km) Pench National Park derives its name from the meandering Pench River and is one of India’s richest, yet lesser-known parks. A typical Central Indian teak jungle, the park features hilly terrain and several jungle streams ; and supports a rich variety of wildlife. It is no wonder that the park inspired Rudyard Kipling’s enduring classic Jungle Book.

The charming Baghvan lodge, a Taj Safari Lodge has  12 quaint standalone suites as well as a spacious sitting room. Each charming individual suite has a contemporary bungalow feel designed in a  50s ambience, and features stairs leading up to a covered jungle rooftop platform or ‘machan’. The guest area is equipped with a swimming pool overlooking the ‘nullah’ ( stream ) , shaded decks, interactive kitchen, library and a Safari Shop.

A five-minute drive from Pench National Park, the luxury safari lodge is close to key airports—Nagpur (56 miles, 90 km) and Jabalpur (119 miles, 192 km)—and is 205 miles (330 km) away from Bandhavgarh National Park.
