Thai Airways International is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand, founded in 1960 . It operates domestic, regional and intercontinental flights radiating from its home base in Bangkok to key destinations around the world and within Thailand. - THAI was voted second for Best Intercontinental Airlines at the 17th Grand Travel Award Ceremony in Stockholm. The votes were conducted with over 1,200 travel agents in Stockholm, Denmark and Norway.

- THAI's Royal First Class Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport ranked the Best in Skytrax 2009 global survey of airlines. Besides, THAI's airline cabin staff category has also climbed up from fourth to third place and THAI remains among the top five in the Best First Class Airline Award. In the lounge section, THAI features five stars dining options and offers Spa and massage services for its customers.  Staff services at THAI's Royal First Class Lounge also earned five stars on service efficiency as well as general customer care.

- THAI was ranked among the Best First Class and Business Class Airlines in the world by Luxury Travel Magazine's Gold List 2008 in Australia.

On board, in the privacy of their segregated cabin, the degree of friendly, personal hospitality extended to them is exceptional.  The innovation in luxury is the newly installed sleeper seating, with 180 degrees of recline and almost seven feet of space in which to stretch out. Each seat is equipped with the interactive Audio Visual On Demand entertainment system, plus in-seat telephone and laptop power outlet.

In-flight Dining

Royal First Class passengers are welcomed on board with a glass of Dom Perignon, Bollinger or an appropriate vintage Champagne, and the premium bar service includes aged whiskies, Napoleon brandies, a full range of ports and liqueurs , beers and soft drinks with, naturally, a selection of the finest vintage wines selected by a panel of experts.

Meals are served, with timing adjusted to each passenger’s preference, by a dedicated staff renowned for their gracious hospitality, in a style more suitable for a classic gourmet restaurant.The exquisite presentation of each meal reflects the skill and experience of THAI master chefs and the international tastes of their honoured guests. With choices for every course, dishes are presented, beautifully garnished, on fine porcelain, with the finest table linen and crystal glasses to enhance the enjoyment of connoisseur travellers.

Enjoy segregated cabins, with two-abreast seating. On long-haul flights, newly installed shell seats offer 60 inches (five feet) of stretch-out space, with 170 degrees of recline for sleeping. Each seat is equipped with telephone and laptop power outlet. The interactive Audio Visual On Demand entertainment system offers literally hundreds of channels, for movies, music, information and games.

THAI international master chefs have created innovative menus, which are changed regularly to create variety. Meals are served, restaurant style, in individual courses, always with a tempting choice of main dish. Presentation is also magnificent, with porcelain place settings, fine table linen and crystal glasses. Every aspect of refreshment service is lavish, with a full complimentary bar choice, offering fine wines of notable vintage, premium brands of spirits, vintage ports and liqueurs, plus a variety of beers and soft drinks.

THAI offers a full range of special menus, which should be ordered, in advance, at the same time THAI flight reservations are made.
