| This magnificent three-storey town house is situated on a quiet street, just a few minutes from the architecturally famous Place des Vosges. The Marais, The Bastille Opera House, the Seine, Ile Saint Louis and the Notre Dame are all within easy walking distance. Convenient shops and restaurants can be found on the Rue de Rivoli close by, and a larger selection of fashionable boutiques, cafés and restaurants in the interesting little streets which comprisethe Marais. A stay in this unique property provides an unforgettable experience. Masterfully decorated and furnished, it is a homage to elegant living, both past and present. You will experience every modern comfort and luxury, and yet feel as if you have stepped back into another era. Situated behind a garden courtyard and high walls, it is also very private. From the courtyard, entrance to the house is through a glassed-in veranda, heated during the winter months and the ideal place for enjoying a meal or relaxing in the sun. Meals can also be taken in the elegant and very atmospheric dining room with low, timbered ceiling, candle-lit chandelier, a huge stone fireplace and dining table, seating 8 people. A lift and a staircase provide access to the upper and lower ground floors of the house. The white-washed stone walls of the staircase display a wonderful collection of paintings, drawings and collages, representing works from the Baroque period to modern art. There are four bedroom suites with double beds and bathrooms. Each bedroom is equipped with cable television (with international channels), stereo and telephone. At the lowest level of the house is a pool room with heated swimming pool (7 x 3.5m) with jet stream. |
