The Wakaya Club

(This information is no longer valid, please contact our sales team for futher information)

The Wakaya Club
Break loose. Slip away. Disappear to your own private beach.

Wakaya can take you to a secluded cove, reserved just for you! We leave you with a sumptuous champagne picnic, a two-way radio and the assurance that there isn't another soul in sight- just a vast expanse of the South Pacific, edged by a white sand beach under a brilliant sky.

Wakaya's owners work closely with village leaders to create opportunities for guests to observe and take part in autherntic Fijian ceremonies and traditions. Without exception, guests come away from these experiences with a profound respect for Fijian values and the Wakayans' family-centred lifestyle.

The Island also offers fascinating archaelogical sites. Wakaya has been inhabited since at least 700 BC and digs have been conducted by a Fulbright scholar from UCLA. Some of the artifacts are on view in Rumu Lagilagi which houses David Gilmour's personal collection of the 19th century maps and engravings. Korlevu, the summit of the island and the site of early Fijian fortification, is a magical place of great spiritual energy. A visit will give you an appreciation for the size and diversity of this island paradise. Chieftain's Leap is another beautiful site with quite a story behind it: your guide will happily impart the details thereof.
