Villas
The villas or bures (pronounced 'boo-rays') are spacious and identical, enjoying easy access to the water, each with its stretch of white sand.
Twelve doors open to an expansive terrace, and from the living room you walk up three steps to the bedroom, with a king size bed and a dressing area.
The bures are around 50 metres apart and are set in natural jungle, allowing privacy
Grand Honeymoon Bures- Vale Viqi
The most remote of the bures, this mini-palace is noted for its extreme privacy, and architectural detailing. Vale Viqi gives you 182 square metres/1960 square feet of exclusive space plus private courtyard/deck. Air conditioned, sound system, two indoor showers, two outdoor showers, bidet, bathtub, cosy dining area, and plunge pool, all surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. Full time staff reside in nearby quarters along with permanent electric cart transportation.
The Point - Premium Bures
This is a premium bure with a commanding view of the lagoon and entire beach. It has two levels, with air conditioning and a pool (fresh water). Well, there are actually TWO pools! Not to mention permanent staff assigned on a fulltime basis.
This bure is ideally suited to high profile guests seeking privacy.
Demand is particularly high with honeymooners and wedding celebrants.
Specialising in diving, Vatulele is the only five-star island resort in Fiji that boasts world-class diving, a PADI diving facility and resident instructors.
Vatulele is also the only island resort in the Pacific to be admitted to Relais & Chateaux, an exclusive hotel membership association and is a member of Small Luxury Hotels.
As Vatulele's wonderful gourmet meals are included in the tariff, guests can relax and delight in the cuisine as well as the fine selection of French champagne, Australian and New Zealand wines, liquors and beer. The main influence comes of course from Fiji and India, however countries such as Australia and Asia are also represented, producing a variety of tastes that make Vatulele's meals absolutely delicious.
The menu is both contemporary and exotic, with local tropical delights such as mango and coconut adding flavour to the dishes.
For lunch, guests dine on the shady, central pavilion overlooking the lagoon. In the evening under bright stars and soft lantern light 'al fresco' is the theme. Sink your toes in the sand and delight in a five star beach dinner party hosted by a Vatulele staff member.
Weddings
For many career-minded couples, organising a wedding takes such enormous effort that the idea of 'eloping' can be very attractive, especially when the wedding can take place in the romantic setting of Vatulele.
The service is usually held on the beach at sunset, in a 'church' with doors and windows created from plaited coconut leaves and flowers. Traditionally dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a barge trip across the lagoon, and children toss flower petals in the sand as she is carried ashore to take her vows. The ceremony is accompanied by the mellow voices of a village choir raised in sublime harmony.
Wedding ceremonies at Vatulele are not merely 'show business' however. The vows are solemnised by a Fijian minister, and because of their popularity, we limit them to three a month. All the guests are invited: they participate in champagne toasts, the traditional Kava ceremony, a native feast cooked in pits in the ground, and later enjoy the villagers' genuine ceremonial dances.
For all concerned, a Vatulele wedding is the fantasy of a lifetime come true.
