Extend your South African adventure with a four-night Botswana safari to two regions legendary for elephants, lions, and a host of African animals and birds. This fly-in safari includes two days of game drives in a remote park bordering Chobe National Park, and two additional days of wildlife viewing in a private reserve in the lush wetlands of the Okavango Delta. Stay in tented safari camps with hot water, showers, and gourmet food, situated right in the midst of the animal action. This special tour is not escorted by a Tauck Director, however is fully guided by local experts. Experienced animal trackers offer their insights on the wildlife and conservation efforts during outings in the bush. The safari starts in Victoria Falls and ends in Johannesburg, and includes the four flights required to access these remote locations providing the consummate African experience.

2007 Itinerary

Linyanti Reserve
Botswana safari begins in Victoria Falls after your Tauck South Africa adventure comes to an end. Travel by land to Kasane, Botswana, and take a short flight to the 275,000-acre Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park. The region's habitat diversity results in extraordinary wildlife diversity. It is most famous for elephants and for the large number of predators, especially lions. See what you can spot on game drives morning, afternoon and evening. Guided by skilled rangers, your day and night game drives in Linyanti Wildlife Reserve may yield sightings of zebras, impalas, wildebeests, antelopes, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Pontoon boats get you out on the waterways to see hippopotamus.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner daily
Lodging: At either DumaTau Camp or Savuti Camp, Linyanti Reserve, Botswana

Okavango Delta
A short flight brings you to the Okavango Delta region, a watery wilderness known as one of the world's most impressive ecosystems. Transfer to the Jao Reserve, a private reserve bordering on the Moremi Game Reserve. A variety of habitats ensure interesting and diverse game viewing. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, and waterfowl are all commonly observed. Keep your camera ready and loaded during morning and afternoon game drives. In between game drives, you may just observe wildlife right from your treehouse-style safari tent, which is built on a raised wooden platform with a private deck for viewing. Marvel at the stars in the sky and the sounds of the jungle every night of your safari.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner daily
Lodging: At either Tubu Tree Camp, Kwetsani Camp or Jacana Camp, Jao Reserve, Botswana

Depart Botswana via a short flight to Maun then a flight back to Johannesburg to catch your international flight home. Your Botswana safari ends at Johannesburg Airport.
