Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive Cape Town

A warm South African welcome to one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Private transfer to your hotel.
Cape Town (Choice of category)

Days 02-03 Design Your Days Cape Town

Two days to design your ideal exploration of the stunning Cape. Choose one of the following. Gain an orientation of the city on a morning tour, with a ride up Table Mountain (weather permitting), a visit to the Waterfront and also to the home of a Cape Malay resident in Bo Kaap for a traditional Cape Malay tea. Visit the home gallery of Rose Korber to view a selection of works by leading and emerging artists or let Sandra Fairfax, your personal shopper, take you on a shopping adventure of the city.

Your second day takes you further afield. Choose one of the following full day sightseeing options. Explore the dramatic coastline and its lighthouses on a Lighthouse Tour. Cruise to Roman Rock lighthouse, meet the local lighthouse keeper at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and walk along the sea cliffs to the restricted access lower Cape Point lighthouse and end your wonderful day with sundowners at the Green Point lighthouse. For the gastronomic, A&K recommends you spend the day in the picture postcard Winelands. Tantalise your palate with award winning wines at Vergelegen and Waterford Wine Estates, olives and olive oil and sample hand-made chocolates and local cheese. Or for those more active, bike ride through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, learning of the unique fynbos of the area and take in the wonderfully dramatic ocean views. Visit the sleepy fishing town of Kalk Bay, famous for its antique and art shops and finish with a wander through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, recently voted among the Top Ten Gardens in the World by the curators of Kew Gardens, London (B).
Cape Town (Choice of category)

Day 04 Cape Town

Today is at leisure to do as you please - perhaps explore the city and stroll along the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with its shops, restaurants and bars. Optional: choose from one of the many excursions available. A half day visit to Robben Island, where South Africa’s former president, Nelson Mandela, was incarcerated for almost 20 years of his life. For those who enjoy the outdoors, a half day of sailing in your own private yacht is a must. Or explore the city with a tour of the townships, a memorable experience meeting locals and learning about life in the Cape Flats (B).

Day 05 Cape Town - Johannesburg - Kruger National Park

Fly to the private reserves of Kruger National Park where your ‘Big Five’ safari adventure begins with an afternoon game drive (B,D).
Kruger Private Game Reserve (Choice of category)

Days 06-07 Kruger National Park

Two full days on safari. Let an early morning game drive or late afternoon drive take you up close to elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and possibly the elusive leopard (a special sighting and one to be remembered). Guided walks are also on offer with your safari guide highlighting details that would go unoticed from a vehicle. A night safari showcases the nocturnal species such as the bushbaby and the carnivores on their evening prowl (B,L,D).
Kruger Private Game Reserve (Choice of category)

Day 08 Kruger National Park - Johannesburg

A final safari to finish your South African experience, before a flight returns you to Johannesburg (B).
