Day 01 Arrive Muscat
Welcome to the hidden gem of Arabia! Private transfer to your hotel.

Day 02 Muscat
Explore Muscat on a full day sightseeing. Visit the remarkable Grand Mosque, Bait Al Zubair Museum, the fish market and the colourful Muttrah souq in Old Muscat. Stop at the palace area, home to Oman’s hereditary rulers, and 16th century Portuguese forts. This afternoon visit Oman’s newest museum and the personal collection of Latif Al-Balushi. The private collection features gold coins, rare maps, historical treaties and old engravings (B).

Day 03 Muscat
Today is at leisure to relax in your resort surrounds (B).

Day 04 Muscat — Sur
Drive along the rugged coastline with fantastic views of the gulf, beaches, cliffs and lush green wadis. Stop in the fishing village of Quriyat and visit the Bimah sinkhole. Finish in Sir, famous for its dhow shipyards and the reputed home of the legendary Sinbad the Sailor. Walk through the labyrinth of streets revealing fine old houses with carved doors and arabesque windows (B).

Day 05 Sur — Wahiba Sands — Nizwa
Today drive inland and visit Wadi Bani Khalid with its crystal clear rock pools. Then continue on to the Wahiba Sands. Rising to 150m in height the rolling dunes of Wahiba vary in colour from deep orange to rich amber and stretch as far as the eye can see. The traditional home of the nomadic Bedouin, explore the dunes and visit the home of a Bedouin family. Continue to the oasis of Nizwa (B,L).

Day 06 Nizwa — Jabrin — Muscat
Nizwa, one of the oldest cities of the Sultanate and an ancient cross road at the base of the Western Hajar Mountains. Explore with a visit to the 17th century Nizwa Round Tower Fort, the seat of power during the rule of the Al Ya'ruba dynasty and the souk with its silverware, coffee pots and antiques. Travel to Jabrin Fort, a fine example of Islamic architecture with beautiful wooden inscriptions and painted ceilings. Return to Muscat via the 400-year-old village of Al Hamras and Birkat Al Mauz at the foothills of the Jabal Akhdar (B,L).

Day 07 Depart Muscat
Your Omani adventure ends with a transfer to the airport (B).
