This morning your A&K guide introduces you to this baroque city, the work of architect Joze Plecnik. Visit Presern Square, Tromostovje (Three Bridges), Plecnik market and stroll along the banks of the Ljubljanica river. This afternoon travel through the countryside to Lake Bled, whose emerald green water, picture-postcard church, medieval castle, and looming Alpine peaks create an idyllic setting. Board an old fashioned gondola known as a ‘pletna’ for a private cruise across the lake to the small island, visiting the Church of the Assumption whose 15th century belfry should be rung to bring good luck! (B).

Today travel across the border to Croatia. Your journey takes you via Mokrice and Otocec Castle, a jewel rising from the mists of the Krka River and the only water castle in Slovenia. On route, a small detour will be made in order to visit the man-made caves used for wine storage, with a chance of a wine tasting (B).
Zagreb (Choice of category)

This morning take a panoramic tour of Zagreb, followed by a walking tour of the Upper Town. Visit St Mark’s Church, City Hall, Parliament, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Josip Jelacic Square. Drive to the Croatian Highlands and see beautiful landscapes, romantic castles and vineyards. Visit the medieval Trakoscan Castle, a fairytale vision perched high on a hill overlooking the lake (B).
Zagreb (Choice of category)

Today you choose how to get to Split. Either transfer to the airport and fly to the port city on the Adriatic Coast where the remainder of your day is at leisure. Or immerse yourself in the slower route and drive via the beautiful Plitvice National Park where your guide will show your the highlights of the region (B).
Hotel Vestibul Palace (Superior Room)

Board the ferry for a trip along the stunning Dalmatian coast to the beautiful island of Hvar. Your A&K guide is on-hand to point out highlights along the way. Drive across the island to Hvar Town, built by the Venetian Doges. Time to stroll around the small historical centre, with its harbour front cafés. Return to Split where your afternoon is at leisure (B).

This morning tour the lively seaport of Split. Visit the extraordinary and imposing Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Built in the 3rd century AD on the shores of the Adriatic, the structure remains a unique remnant of the great days of the Empire, and beside it the richly decorated octagonal St Dominus Cathedral was originally the Emperor’s mausoleum. There will be some free time to wander the attractive streets of the old town with its boutique shops. This afternoon drive further south to Dubrovnik (B).

Gain an orientation of this beautiful city on a walking tour with your A&K guide. Highlights include the Franciscan and Dominican Monasteries, the Rector’s Palace and Dubrovnik Cathedral. This afternoon drive to picturesque town of Cavtat and visit Mestrovic's Mausoleum and Bogisic's Collection. On return to Dubrovnik visit the private home of a local dignitary for afternoon tea (B).

Travel further south along the coast to the independent state of Montenegro. Visit the medieval coastal city Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through its perfectly preserved centre, replete with Roman, Byzantine and Gothic buildings, including the 12th-century Cathedral of St. Tryphon and the Gothic Drago Palace (B).
