About Ramadan
UAE’s most important religious festival of the year is Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. The precise dates are determined by the lunar calendar and by religious experts in Saudi Arabia who view the moon several nights in advance to confirm the official start date.
This year Ramadan is predicted to start on 10th August and finish on 10th September.
During Ramadan, Muslims commemorate the revelation of the first verses of the Holy Quran, abstain from food, drinking and smoking between sunrise and sunset, and then break their fast with family, with a traditional feast called iftar.

Luggage Allowance
When travelling Diamond First Class with Etihad, guests are entitled to a 40kg check-in baggage allowance. Diamond First Class guests are allowed to carry on two pieces of baggage with a combined weight of up to 12kg.
Pearl Business Class travellers are entitled to a 30kg check-in baggage allowance and are allowed to carry on two pieces of baggage with a combined weight of up to 12kg.
Maximum weight for check-in luggage is 32kg per item.

Flew to Europe with Etihad First Class June 3rd 2011.So disappointed that we had to use the Air New Zealand Lounge in Sydney, such poor food and drink choice, atmosphere and furniture was very basic.
Etihad flights were very good and the First Class lounge in Abu Dhabi was excellent.
Thanks to Garry and Natalie for helping us organise tickets and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.
Everything was excellent took off on time landed on time. Seats very comfy very friendly staff. I liked the cabin set up as they have both options to cater for people who are travelling alone or together. My only gripe is that in Abu Dhabi there was only one shower in the gents which was constantly in use and the lounge seemed quite small for the number of people using it. I did like the chauffeur service which was excellent.
Will I fly Etihad again yes definitely.

I’m back and sorry about cancelling the car! My beloved INSISTED he wanted to pick me up so the chauffeur had to be ditched. Now just wanted to give you some feedback, everything was excellent and I got to travel the Abu Dhabi London leg both ways on the brand new fancy super schmancy Diamond First Class and it is amazing! Everything was great, fast tracking through customs left right and centre, they could no do enough for me at the airport on all of the planes, would thoroughly recommend Etihad and it was worth the money and an excellent deal. Even the normally painful Heathrow part was quite tolerable after all the bowing and scraping.
Thanks again for making the organisation so smooth and here’s hoping Etihad continue with more good deals!
