Hayman resort on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has finally reopened after a five-month forced closure. The island resort is welcoming visitors again after the completion of restoration and repair work necessitated by Tropical Cyclones Anthony and Yasi earlier in the year. From today, Hayman presents eight Beach Villas, new restaurants, new activities and adventures, as well as a new garden landscape. The new Beach Villas each have a large private pool, a private terrace and outdoor shower, and a vast bathroom. Villa guests receive a dedicated Butler service and exclusive dining experiences including Chefs’ tasting menus. New restaurant concepts have been introduced. These include the beachfront Azure and the Fontaine restaurant which presents contemporary Australian cuisine and the best of Australian wines. The Oriental and La Trattoria restaurants also make their return. The Hayman Activities hub has been upgraded, featuring new floodlit tennis courts, squash courts, a basketball court, golf putting green and driving range, and a fitness centre. The Hayman Spa menu has also had a makeover, now offering refreshed therapies. Yachts, cruisers, seaplanes and helicopters will continue to take guests on reef adventures with fishing, coral viewing from underwater vessels, plus diving and snorkelling. A new 16Ha botanical garden has also been developed. It contains 327 new plant species, native birds, butterflies and other wildlife.
The much-anticipated opening of Hayman’s new luxurious Beach Villas has been a complete success, receiving acclaim from both industry partners and guests.
The Villas represent Australia’s latest absolute beachfront accommodation featuring seductive qualities of unencumbered space, an abundance of natural light and superb views of the Coral Sea and Whitsundays.
Personally designed by Amanresorts and Villas architect, Kerry Hill, the Villas exemplify Hayman’s vision of a luxury nature-resort.
Each Villa is 120 sq metres and is inclusive of personalised Butler service, daily breakfast, in-room bar and daily expressions. Features include a large private open-air pool, beachfront terrace, outdoor shower, stunning bathroom with an island bath and a separate shower and integrated technology throughout including Bose SoundDock digital music system.

It was absolutely amazing, it was the best holiday, the staff the hotel the facilities the welcoming attitude everything was sensational.... the only bad thing about it was having to leave !! I cant wait to go back. The hotel was sensational..sensational is an understatement!! Thank you again for all your help in orgainising the stay. We had a ball.
In November and December, Hayman's average temperature is 31 degrees. This is when they expect a lot of rainfall.
Just got back. Hayman is spectacular.
We have 12 years industry experience and this venue is hands down one of the best in Australia. Service+++.
They even upgraded us for free for a couple of nights. The island is extremely Baby friendly, lots of families and understanding staff.
The bad comments on trip advisor can officially be stricken from the record. It is expensive once you are there but it is a private tropical island resort in the Whitsundays with probably somewhere around 300 million dollars worth of facility. Experiencing 300 million dollars costs a bit I guess…
Hayman is a true international. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and I know how far service extends. I seriously doubt many Australian resorts can top Hayman’s standards and consistency.
