Le Taha Island Resort & Spa - Stay 5, Pay 4

(Unfortunately this offer has expired. Please contact our sales team on travel@FirstClass.com.au or call 1300 30 80 81 and we will find you the best alternative.)

Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa is the ultimate and exclusive hideaway of glistening beaches and sparkling waters in the South Pacific. Superbly located on the coral reef, the resort faces the island of Taha'a on the lagoon side and offers an unsurpassed view of Bora Bora island on the ocean side. This traditional Polynesian style hotel is located 5 minutes by boad from main island Taha'a and 35 minutes by boat from Raiatea Island.

The public areas are built in the trees, providing an exquisite view on the lagoon and Taha'a Island. Taha'a, with the rich aroma of vanilla lingering heavily in the air, offers a glimpse of traditional tranquil life of the Tahitians. The flower-shaped island's simple beauty is charmed by soft mountain shapes and surrounded by tiny motu with bright sand beaches. In the fertile valleys cutting within the island, local farmers grow watermelon, vanilla and copra.

Location

"Uporu" island, known as Taha'a, is a wild little paradise located 230km west of Tahiti, in the Society Islands Archipelago. Rich with a multitude of treasures, Taha'a was once an object of rivalry between the kings of Bora Bora and Raiatea during the 18th and 19 centuries. Numerous archaeological sites attest this part of history. Over 40 sites and 100 structures, sometimes swallowed up by the blue lagoon, have so far been identified on the island.

Taha'a is often called the "Vanilla Island". It is effectively responsible for 70% of Polynesia's vanilla production, estimated at 25 tons per year. The precious vanilla orchid grows under the humid shade of Taha's tropical forest. Taha is an island of passion, a land where men choose to live in harmony with nature, her generous gifts and unspoiled beauty.
