Aug 23: Florence | Heart of the Renaissance

Explore one of the most culturally rich cities on earth with a choice of curated excursions. Choose to discover iconic Florentine sites during a guided walk in the historic centre, followed by a stroll through the Oltrarno District and a refreshing treat. Alternately, set off on a quintessentially Italian experience, leaving the city behind for the rolling hills of Tuscany. There, meet a truffle hunter and his faithful dog and discover the history of this prized delicacy before savouring a truffle-themed lunch. Aug 26: Rome, Italy | The Eternal City

Disembark this morning in the port of Civitavecchia and board a motorcoach for the drive to Rome, where you have your pick of expertly designed excursions. If you are a food lover, opt for a three-hour, hands-on lesson in the art of Italian cuisine, learning the secrets to making delectable pasta and tiramisu. Alternately, discover Rome’s Jewish heritage with a walk through the historic Jewish Ghetto, followed by the Vatican for an afternoon viewing its incomparable treasures. You may also tour central Rome’s narrow streets and sunny piazzas — including world-famous Trevi Fountain — and pay a private visit to Palazzo Colonna. Aug 28: Palermo | Sicily’s Capital

Begin your exploration of Sicily with a choice of three inspiring excursions. In the first, take in the sites of capital city Palermo, including the Teatro Massimo, Palermo’s Duomo; the Quattro Canti, a spectacular Baroque square; and the 12th-century Cataldo Church. Another option is a journey into Sicily’s rich cuisine, starting with a shopping expedition to a local market in Palermo. Proceed to a private city palazzo (palace) for a three-hour, hands-on cooking class, where you learn the importance of food to Sicilian culture and prepare a four-course lunch. You may also opt to enjoy a scenic drive to Erice; walk up the hill to the historic town and enjoy tantalizing Sicilian views, as well as its own distinctive almond pastries. Sep 2: Venice | City of Bridges

A worthy finale, Venice is an endlessly inspiring place, and today’s excursions reveal it the way you wish to experience it. Choose a comprehensive walking tour of the island, including must-sees like St. Mark’s Square as well as places more off the beaten track, such as Frari Church, where Renaissance painter Titian is interred. Another option is a discovery of the island city by privatized water taxi, making stops to admire St. Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge. Lovers of local delights can opt for a visit to Mazzorbo Island, known for its walled vineyards, and to a charming Venetian bacaro (wine bar), ideal for enjoying un’ombra (a short glass) and cicchetti (small bites).

Public Areas 

Le Bougainville has many common areas that are designed and equipped to meet all of your needs while preserving the intimacy of each passenger.

A 140 m² reception area includes:

  • The sales office, manned by our Guest Relations Officer,
  • Our 50 m² boutique which sells clothing, jewellery, beauty products, postcards and various accessories,

A new hydraulic platform with adjustable height provides:  

  • Easier boarding than on any other cruise ship,
  • Easier Zodiac embarkation and disembarkation for expeditions,
  • Easier access to the sea for swimming and practising various water sports such as kayaking or paddle-boarding.

 

A pool deck offering:

  • A pool with a panoramic view, equipped with a counter-current swimming system,
  • A pleasant solarium,
  • An outdoor bar and lounge with armchairs and sofas.

 

A 200 m² main lounge which can accommodate all of our passengers to share convivial moments and to host activities organised during the day or evening.

Lastly, a theatre that seats 188, equipped with:

  • The latest sound and lighting technology,
  • A LED wall as the stage backdrop, for the projection of high-resolution images and videos.

 

Restaurants

As it is an essential part of French culture, gastronomy will naturally have pride of place aboard this new ship.

To the back of Deck 4, you will find a 260 m² panoramic restaurant which can accommodate all of our passengers in a single sitting. Designed differently to that on our other ships, this dining area, which opens onto the outside, will have a buffet of salads, desserts and cheeses at your disposal. Our discreet and attentive crew will provide table service for hot meals.

In a relaxed atmosphere, an outdoor grill on Deck 3 will serve grilled meats with a variety of salads and desserts.
