DAY 01 – TOKYO, JAPAN

EMBARK 8:00 AM
TOKYO, JAPAN
Fusing the vitality of a modern metropolis with the stately elegance of yesteryear, Tokyo is truly unique. From the timeless beauty of the Meiji Shrine to the glittering Ginza district and impressive Tokyo Tower, this international giant is a complex blend of East and West. Houses of wood and paper stand beside towering steel skyscrapers, while kimono-clad women stroll beside teenagers who have created a fashion all their own.

DAY 02 – SHINGU, JAPAN

MORNING
SHINGU, JAPAN
A small coastal town of 30,000, Shingu is home to Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine, a UNESCO-designated treasure and one of three sacred sites along the ancient pilgrimage routes of Kumano Kodo, leading to and from Shingu. The striking red and white architecture has called to pilgrims for centuries and continues to leave travelers with a sense of awe in this tranquil setting. Less tranquil pursuits can be found in the Doro-kyo Gorge, where rafting and boating and exploring the rock formations will thrill your inner adventurer.

DAY 03-04 – OSAKA, JAPAN

MORNING
OSAKA, JAPAN
As it has been for centuries, Osaka remains a city of commerce, one of the original Japanese towns at the core of a developing society that grew around trade with China. Although the nature of the city hasn’t changed, it is presently undergoing an architectural revolution with a dazzling display of gleaming skyscrapers. Its prime geography makes it an excellent gateway to famed locales – including the sacred site of Kyoto and the majestic tranquility of Nara.

DAY 04-05 – HIMEJI, JAPAN

MORNING
HIMEJI, JAPAN
Both a designated national treasure and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Himeji Castle presides over this capital of the Harima Province in stately white elegance. Nearby Kokoen Gardens cover the area formerly occupied by imperial samurai, and Shoshazan Engyoji Temple atop Mount Shosha attracts pilgrims from around the world. Together, these picturesque sites shape the past and present of one of the most important cities in the Kansai region.

DAY 05 – TAMANO (UNO KO), JAPAN

MORNING
TAMANO (UNO KO), JAPAN
This town is all about innovation, home to several engineering powerhouses and shipbuilding facilities. The breathtaking scenery and outdoor lifestyle of Tamano in no way conveys an industrial atmosphere, with beaches perfect for swimming or beach volleyball, and public displays of contemporary art downtown. Lovely Miyama Park boasts an English garden and numerous walking and biking paths, while Ojigadake Bluffs reward hikers with sea views.

DAY 06 – CRUISING THE COAST OF JAPAN

DAY AT SEA
Aboard the world’s largest and most spacious luxury expedition yacht, you’ll find an array of unmatched experiences to immerse in during your days at sea. Indulge your senses at the serene Crystal Life Spa & Salon, work-out at our state-of-the-art fitness center, and learn about art, history and worldly destinations with our engaging enrichment programs. Or simply lounge poolside in solarium bliss while our attentive crew caters to your every whim. As evening arrives, indulge in the renowned culinary creations of Nobu Matsuhisa, enjoy special wine-makers dinners, lounge in luxurious spaces, or try your luck at the action-packed Resorts World At Sea Casino.

DAY 07 – UWAJIMA, JAPAN

MORNING
UWAJIMA, JAPAN
A slice of small town living along the coast, Uwajima holds a proud history. It’s home to one of only twelve extant castles from the Edo Period, and one of the main pearl producing communities in Japan. Visit a local pearl farm to learn the secrets of the fine pieces, and explore further into the rural community for an authentic glimpse into daily life.

DAY 08 – KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN

MORNING
KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN
Mount Sakurajima poses an imposing image upon arrival to Kagoshima, but don’t let the active volcano that presides across the bay fool you. Kagoshima has been voted Japan’s friendliest city, with a climate to match the warmth of its residents – and the heat of Mount Sakurajima. This tropical environment fosters a rich agriculture and aquaculture that produces distinct cuisine and famously high-quality ingredients. The nearby Chiran Samurai Residences and Gardens offer a glimpse into the legendary warriors of 250 years ago.

DAY 09 – ANBO, YAKUSHIMA ISLAND, JAPAN

MORNING
ANBO, YAKUSHIMA ISLAND, JAPAN
Fairytales seem to come to life in the towering forests of Yakushima Island, where Japanese cedars thousands of years old create a hauntingly beautiful canopy. Hiking trails, hot springs and the extraordinarily complex ecosystems of the Pale Arctic and Oriental biotic regions make this UNESCO-designated island treasure an endless maze of discovery for intrepid travelers. Nearly 2,000 species of animals wander the forests alongside explorers, while infinite vistas reward the climb.

DAY 10 – AMAMI, JAPAN

MORNING
AMAMI, JAPAN
The largest of the Satsunan chain islands, Amami entices visitors to its rugged coastline with expansive white sand beaches that lead to cobalt seas and vibrant coral reefs in one direction, and to spectacular mangroves and highland cloud forest in the other. Snorkelers and sunseekers will relish Amami’s tropical delights, while its distinctive cuisine and traditional Oshima Tsumugi silks enhance the flavor and cultural beauty of the experience.

DAY 11 – YORONJIMA, JAPAN

MORNING
YORONJIMA, JAPAN
An island at the southernmost point of Kagoshima, Yoron is a tropical paradise with a complex culture. Despite its proximity to Kagoshima, Yoron sports clear influences from nearby Okinawa, and a beautiful harmony between the old and new. Besides the spectacularly blue waters that beckon to swimmers, Yoron’s proudest site is the Folk Village, which preserves the ancient ways of crafting and creating to continue the practices for generations to come.

DAY 11-12 – MOTOBU, OKINAWA, JAPAN

AFTERNOON
MOTOBU, OKINAWA, JAPAN
Sea life is celebrated here, as Motobu is home to some of Japan’s best beaches and swimming areas, as well as Churaumi Aquarium, the world’s largest private aquarium. Comprising more than 204,5000 square feet, Churaumi is filled with majestic creatures from the deep, including giant whale sharks, bull sharks, manta rays, and thousands of tropical and deep-water fish. Head to Emerald Beach for infinite views of the macrocosm of the aquarium in the ocean beyond.

DAY 12-13 – NAHA, OKINAWA, JAPAN

EVENING
NAHA, OKINAWA, JAPAN
A cosmopolitan hub full of energy, Naha is the capital of the Okinawa prefecture, boasting influences of ancient Japanese traditions and more recent evidence of international visitors. Explore the urban jungle of Kokusai-Dori’s shopping and dining, including the fusion cuisine that is unique to Okinawa, evolved from decades of western occupation (taste the taco rice, champura and soki soba). Naminoue Shrine offers a glimpse into Okinawan mythology, while Gokokuji Temple tells dramatic tales of controversial settlers.

DAY 13 – KERAMA-SHOTO ISLANDS, JAPAN

MORNING
KERAMA-SHOTO ISLANDS, JAPAN
The seas surrounding these islands, located about 20 miles from Okinawa, are a window to the wonders below, astoundingly transparent and reflecting nearly neon hues in the sunlight. Beneath these waters is a snorkeler’s playground, with sea turtles swimming along the coral reefs among the hundreds of endemic species here. Watch for migrating humpback whales who also favor the warm waters among the islands for their annual breeding grounds.

DAY 14 – MIYAKO-JIMA, JAPAN

MORNING
MIYAKO-JIMA, JAPAN
Part of the Okinawa prefecture, this tropical haven is home to some of Japan’s most breathtaking beaches, ideal starting points for snorkeling along the coral reefs. And while aquatic adventures of most any kind are a centerpiece of Miyako-jima’s charm, exploration along the cape, into the wetlands and botanical gardens, and to the vast sugarcane fields is also an enlightening experience.

DAY 15 – IRIMOTE ISLAND , JAPAN

MORNING
IRIMOTE ISLAND , JAPAN
Dive into the welcoming waters of Tsuki-ga-hama, a crescent-shaped expanse of golden sands outlined in some of Japan’s most beautiful coral reefs. This is one of few wide-open spaces on Irimote-jima Island, as the untamed wild jungles cover much of its remaining territory. That jungle is permeated by meandering rivers, ideal for kayaking and other explorations, making this wild frontier a playground for nature lovers.

DAY 16 – TAIPEI (KEELUNG), TAIWAN

MORNING
TAIPEI (KEELUNG), TAIWAN
Just 20 miles from Keelung, Taipei is located on the northern tip of Taiwan where the Tamsui and Keelung rivers meet. One of Asia’s fastest-growing cities, it is the gateway to an island of contrasts, from bustling urban areas to serene countryside. Key sites of interest include the 19th-century city gates and walls, the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial and the famous Grand Hotel.
