Abu Dhabi

The city of Abu Dhabi is located on an island in the Persian Gulf, and is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and the second most populous Emirate after Dubai. Its focus on oil exports and commerce is reflected by the skyline’s modern towers and shopping mega centres. Beneath white-marble domes, the vast Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is perhaps Abu Dhabi’s most famous landmark, with a capacity of 41,000 worshippers.

Shopping – There are fabulous malls and vibrant souks (markets) around Abu Dhabi. Discover local and international brands at ultra-modern malls, embrace VIP status at luxury shopping destinations, and find authentic perfumes, handicrafts, spices, carpets and even fresh fruits, vegetables and fish at photo-worthy souks.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the country, and the key place of worship for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. During Eid, it may be visited by more than 41,000 people.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a mostly indoors theme park located on Yas Island. It was the world’s first Ferrari-themed park and features Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an art museum located on Saadiyat Island. It runs under an agreement between the UAE and France, signed in March 2007, that allows it to use the Louvre’s name until 2037, and has been described by the Louvre as “France’s largest cultural project abroad." It is approximately 24,000 square metres in size, with 8,000 square metres of galleries, making it the largest art museum in the Arabian peninsula. Artworks from around the world are showcased at the museum, with stated intent to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western art. By 2019, the Louvre Abu Dhabi had already attracted 2 million visitors, making it the most visited museum in the Arab world.

The Yas Marina Circuit is the venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit is situated on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from the capital. Yas Marina is the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 license.

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi is an Emirati-themed waterpark located on Yas Island that is home to 45 rides, slides and attractions, and a diversity of seasonal events and shows. The waterpark, set across more than 15 hectares of land,  is just minutes away from Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, and CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is an indoor theme park featuring characters from Warner Bros.’s franchises, such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and others. The park is located on Yas Island, and is the third Warner Bros. theme park.  The park contains 29 rides and shows.

Escape the city with a myriad of outdoor activities in the Abu Dhabi Region. With soaring dunes and impressive sand valleys, Abu Dhabi’s desert scape is a playground for fans of adventure and adrenaline. Dune bashing is a fantastic way to explore the desert expanse outside the Liwa Oasis in Al Dhafra, or the beautiful dunes of the Al Khaznah area between Abu Dhabi and the lush garden city of Al Ain.
