Break loose. Slip away. Disappear to your own private beach.

Wakaya Club and Spa can take you to a secluded cove, reserved just for you! Leaving you with a sumptuous champagne picnic, a two-way radio and the assurance that there isn’t another soul in sight- just a vast expanse of the South Pacific, edged by a white sand beach under a brilliant sky.

Wakaya Club’s owners work closely with village leaders to create opportunities for guests to observe and take part in authentic Fijian ceremonies and traditions. Without exception, guests come away from these experiences with a profound respect for Fijian values and the Wakaya Fiji’s family-centred lifestyle.

The Island also offers fascinating archaeological sites. Wakaya has been inhabited since at least 700 BC and digs have been conducted by a Fulbright scholar from UCLA. Some of the artefacts are on view in Rumu Lagilagi which houses David Gilmour’s personal collection of the 19th-century maps and engravings. Korlevu, the summit of the island and the site of early Fijian fortification, is a magical place of great spiritual energy. A visit will give you an appreciation for the size and diversity of this island paradise. Chieftain’s Leap is another beautiful site with quite a story behind it: your guide will happily impart the details thereof.

Cuisine

At the Wakaya Club, you may choose the intimacy of a table for two or the company of friends at a larger table. Evening after evening, the options are wide open. While many Fijian resorts have a communal table, your privacy is sacred at The Wakaya Club and Spa and seating is arranged according to your wishes.

Weather permitting, breakfast and lunch ar served on the deck overlooking the lagoon in the Palm Grove restaurant or in your bure, as you wish. Dinner is served in the Palm Grove restaurant, a majestic structure with its 60-foot cathedral ceiling.

Picnics

Just imagine this: at your whim, you can be taken to a private and secluded beach where you find everything set for the most romantic picnic on the planet. Wakaya Club leave you and your partner with a picnic basket overflowing with the wines and delicacies of your choice, plus a two-way radio to be used when you are ready to beckon us for transport back to the Club.
