  • Experience the classic golf vistas you have seen on TV
  • Tick one more item off your bucket list
  • A must do for any golfing tragic!

Look what other travelers have said after attending the tour!

The British Open Tour was described as the “Bucket List” of golf experiences which was what drew my attention in the first place. The golf courses lived up to my expectations and more. Despite my advancing years and ever growing handicap, I never imagined how nervous I would be as I prepared to hit a drive on the 1st tee of The Old Course at St Andrews. Every course was different and magnificent in its own way; unfortunately my golf didn’t always match the course. My list of golfing memories from this trip would fill a book but my most lasting memory will be the new friends that my wife and I met on the tour. Bede & Michael were always there to assist. What a great experience – you’ve got to do it at least once! Gregory Bloomfield

The thing that stood out for me from the tour was that the organisation was outstanding. Things happened when they were meant to happen and I can’t recall an instance when there was an administrative shortcoming on the tour. That gives you a lot of confidence in the tour being a success. Add to that, nice accommodation and you have the basis of a most enjoyable tour. The golf courses were every bit as iconic as we had hoped they would be and to have the opportunity to play them was a unique experience. To witness the famous holes that we have heard about over the years, such as the “Postage stamp” at Royal Troon, the final hole at Carnoustie where John Vanderveldt had his famous ‘brain snap’ in the burn that fronts the final hole just brings a new meaning to the pressure the golfers must be under. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 weeks we were away and can now tick off a few of my “Bucket list” items. David Wills, Former Captain of Elanora GC

This is the second course to evolve in St. Andrews and designed by four time Open champion and “keeper of the green” Tom Morris in 1895. Boasting undulating fairways and challenging greens it is little surprise that this is the favorite course of nearly all Saint Andreans!

The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews is, without doubt, one of the most famous golf hotels in the world as the host hotel for the Open Championship when it is played at the Home of Golf every five years. It will seem like you are staying within a sand wedge of the most famous hole in golf, the 17th hole on this world-renowned Old Course. The view of the course and town is especially stunning from the “Road Hole Bar.” At the AA rosette award-winning restaurant you will be served fine food against the backdrop of the world’s most photographed golf course. The Barry Burn eases its way through the final 3 holes, quietly awaiting the shot that is slightly less than perfect. See where Frenchman Jean Van de Velde lost his chance of being Open Champion and a place in history in 1999

Old Course St. Andrews

Today we take on the renowned Old Course where a year previously the world’s best were playing the oldest championship! Your spine will start to tingle from the moment you arrive at The Old Course where Golf began 600 years ago. Home of the 2015 British Open, this course is full of well-known golfing landmarks. Imagine seeing Hell Bunker and The Coffins for yourself as well as landmarks like High Hole (the most celebrated par 3 in golf), the Road Hole & the Famous Swilcan Bridge. So many photo opportunities in one course – what an experience! And to get your juices flowing, take a look at these quotes from two of golf’s legends.

“I fell in love with it the first day I played it. There’s just no other golf course that is even remotely close.” Jack Nicklaus

“Without a doubt I like it the best of all the Open venues. It’s my favourite course in the world.” Tiger Woods

Thu 14th July 2016 – Golf: Kingsbarns Golf Links

While its golf origins date back to 1793, the multi-award-winning Kingsbarns Golf Links only opened in the summer of 2000. It immediately established itself as one of the world’s must-play links courses – debuting at 46th on Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Worldwide list. Since 2001, Kingsbarns has co-hosted the annual European Tour’s elite Dunhill Links Championship along with the Old Course and Carnoustie. Kingsbarns has become a favourite destination for first-time and returning international and UK golf visitors to St Andrews. This reputation is based on a combination of playability, dramatic seaside location, classic links turf and staff dedicated to personal service. Designed by Kyle Phillips and Mark Parsinen, every hole on this championship standard course offers inspiring views of the North Sea. The course is certainly on most people’s list of favorites and among the top ten courses in the British Isles.
