Turtle Bay is that rare gem of a destination and is a truly iconic Hawaiian landmark. Turtle bay is the only resort of its kind anywhere on the North Shore, the idyllic location is the perfect base to get fully immersed in the authentic North Shore experience.

Turtle Bay Resort is fortunate to be blessed with a richness of nature that few places can claim: the most powerful waves in the world as well as tranquil bays for swimming. Miles of seaside walking trails, a farm on site, and a bird sanctuary. The landscape surrounding Turtle Bay has allowed the accommodations designed to give everyone an ocean view.

Accomodation

This is how you imagined it – dramatic ocean views and stunning coastal panoramas. Supremely appointed and casually sophisticated island-inspired rooms and suites. Private lanais that echo the sounds of crashing surf and swaying palms. Turtle Bay features recently renovated guest rooms and suites in the wings of the main Hawaii hotel, with lavishly furnished beach cottages and exclusive oceanfront villas overlooking the spectacular beauty of Kuilima Cove.

Dining

PA’AKAI

Pa’akai, our Oahu restaurant, has been completely renovated in the spirit of their new menus, with natural décor and lighting, wood accents and the cool blues and greens of the nearby ocean and farmland. The menu highlights Hawaii’s abundant array of fresh seafood, with a customizable menu including a mix-and-match approach of sauces, side dishes and cooking styles. New décor features an underwater ocean theme

The Point

Located on the Northernmost point of O‘ahu, Turtle Bay Resort has historical roots in sustainable dining. Ancient Hawaiians dedicated land here to an altar used to pay homage to fishing and agriculture, and we feel it is of utmost importance to recognize the significance of this special land and continue to use locally-sourced ingredients.

Activities

From Surfing to Golf there is an activity for everyone at Turtle Bay Resort

Surfing

Oahu’s North Shore is world famous for its surfing, and Turtle Bay Resort’s 5-mile stretch of breath-taking coastline offers a variety of surf breaks for every level, from absolute beginner to elite wave rider. The local community is filled with surfing legends and contemporaries, and we draw upon their expertise daily to share their experience and knowledge with you. One of those legends is Hans Hedemann, founder of Turtle Bay’s very own Hans Hedemann Surf Center. It’s an ideal place to hone your skills with a wide variety of classes, equipment and instructors.

Group and semi-private lessons are available. Or hire your own professional surfer for a day and live the life as you tour famous breaks, find a few waves to yourself, and get personally introduced to the area with a top local guide.

Stand up paddling is a great all-body workout that can be as intense or as leisurely as you choose to make it. Once you’ve mastered the basics, take it to the waves for a true “beach boy” experience. During the calmer summer months, exploring the gorgeous coastline, reefs and wildlife from atop a stand up paddleboard offers a vantage point that’s hard to beat. You might even cross paths with some of the locals who enjoy regular downwind coastal paddles to stay fit and ready for winter’s big surf

Kayaking

Get access to the inaccessible with the Oahu’s premiere North Shore Eco-Kayak experience on a two-hthe guided tour of Kawela Bay. Enjoy the safety of the professional North Shore Guides as they show you first hand the marine life through your clear bottom kayak gliding over tropical fish, colorful reefs and green sea turtles. Treat yourself to the prettiest views of paradise that are otherwise inaccessible by land. Whether it’s an early morning flight to see the sun light up the intensely green Ko’olau mountain range, or a sunset tour towards Mount Ka’ala as the sky turns hot pink, and the ocean becomes a dark teal, it will be a sight you’ll never forget.

Unique two-way radios allow you to speak to both your pilot and to other guests during the tour.

Beach Activities & Snorkeling

Enter another dimension when you explore the tropical underwater world of Hawaii! Play hide and go seek with the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a – Hawaii’s state fish. Explore coral reefs. Swim alongside the sea turtles (but don’t touch!). Listen for the underwater sounds of the whales and dolphins. Seek treasures delivered by the sea… like precious shells. Snorkeling is one of the most accessible, inexpensive and absorbing activities for “kids” of all ages! If you feel more comfortable in shallow water, that’s OK too, there’s still plenty to see.

Biking, Hiking & Jogging Trails

Traveling length to length of our Turtle Bay Resort, between Kawela Bay and Kahuku Point, our natural jogging and walking trails can take up the better part of a full day!

Particularly if you pack a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, water and snacks and take swim or snorkeling breaks along the way. Many of our trails run close to the sand, while some will take you onto the beach. Stick to the sun protection of shoreline forests, or take your walk onto the sand.

Our professional North Shore Guide will teach you how to maneuver the two-wheeled device then embark on the adventure of a lifetime exploring Turtle Bay’s exotic trails. Discover secluded beaches and connect with the tropical nature the North Shore has to offer without breaking a sweat.

Horseback Riding

Stroll and trot along oceanfront trails and seaside pathways leading to Kawela Bay on our well-trained and friendly horses. On your ride, listen to the sounds of birds and breezes through Ironwood trees and the roar of crashing surf and swaying palms. Visit our famous Banyan tree, filming site for several TV shows and films including “Lost” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

The Stables also has a “Pony Experience”, a hands-on activity for children 6 and under. Keiki will enjoy grooming, feeding, and a ride on the pony or pony drawn cart.
